Small tweaks that pay

4 min

After a week of reading threads, you’ll know what to change. Keep it small.

Review timing

Review requests count days from when the order is delivered (Shopify shows it delivered from the carrier’s tracking, or you mark it delivered). The default is 3 days after delivery. If a delivery is never reported (no tracking, local delivery, pickup), the ask goes out 10 days after the order ships. If your customers need longer to try the product, pick 5, 7 or 14 days in Flows › Review requests › Edit timing. Asking “how did it go?” before they’ve used it only gets “haven’t tried it yet”.

Abandoned cart and post-purchase timing

  • Abandoned cart (default 1 hour): shorter catches people still deciding; longer feels less eager. If your carts are big-ticket, a longer wait often reads better.
  • Post-purchase (default 10 minutes): the order is fresh in their mind. Most brands keep the default.

Quiet hours

The default window is 8 AM to 9 PM in each customer’s time zone. If your customers skew toward early risers or night owls, you can narrow it to 9 to 8 or 10 to 7 in Settings › Texting rules. Replies to a live conversation always go through.

Turn handoffs into facts

Every question your assistant handed to you in week one is a fact you can add: “Do you ship to Alaska?”, “Can I swap scents?”. Add the answer in Facts the assistant may state. Next time it answers by itself.

One change at a time

Change one thing, wait a week, and compare on Overview. If you change timing, voice and facts on the same day, you won’t know which one helped.

Quick check

An order is delivered on Tuesday and the review timing is on its default. When does the assistant ask how it went?
