Messaging Terms
This is the template every brand's page is built from, shown here for an example brand, Acme. Each brand's customers see that brand's own page, with its name and contacts filled in. See a live example: Venom Scents text messages and its SMS program policy.
The short version
- Every brand on BubbleSMS gets its own hosted text messaging terms page, built from this template, at bubblesms.com/messaging-terms/acme/. The brand links to it from its checkout and sign-up forms.
- Each brand also gets an SMS program policy page for US carrier registration, at bubblesms.com/messaging-terms/acme/sms-policy/.
- Each page is filled in from the brand’s account: its name, legal name, support email, privacy policy link and the assistant’s name.
- Parts C and D are for the brand and our team: the opt-in wording to use at checkout, and the standard replies to keywords.
Part A: Text messaging terms (the brand’s customer page)
Who’s texting you
These terms cover text messages from Acme to your mobile phone. Messages come from Mia, Acme’s AI assistant. The assistant is automated: it writes and sends messages without a person typing each one, and it will tell you it’s an AI whenever you ask. A member of the Acme team may join the conversation at any time.
What you’ll get
Recurring automated marketing and customer care texts, such as reminders about items left in your cart, follow-ups after an order, delivery checks, product suggestions, personal discount codes, requests to review your purchase, and help with a subscription or a payment that didn’t go through. Messages are sent by iMessage, or by SMS or RCS when iMessage isn’t available.
How you signed up
You agreed to receive these texts when you ticked the box at checkout or signed up through one of Acme’s forms. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. By signing up, you confirm that you are the account holder of the mobile number you gave (or have the account holder’s permission) and that you are at least 18 years old.
How often
Message frequency varies with your orders, your cart and your replies.
Costs
Message and data rates may apply. Acme doesn’t charge for these texts, but your mobile carrier may. Check your plan for details.
When we text
We don’t start new conversations outside 8 AM to 9 PM your local time, or a shorter window where your state’s law requires one. If you write to us, we may reply straight away, whatever the time.
Stopping texts
Reply STOP at any time to stop. You can also reply STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE or OPTOUT, or just tell us in your own words. We’ll send one message to confirm, and then no more texts from this program, except a single help reply if you text HELP. To start again, reply START.
Getting help
Reply HELP for help, or email support@example.com.
About the assistant
The assistant only shares information from Acme’s own product and order details. Even so, it can make mistakes. The prices and discounts that apply are the ones shown at checkout. The assistant doesn’t give medical, legal or financial advice, and passes those questions, along with complaints and refunds, to the Acme team. Please don’t send card numbers, passwords or other sensitive information by text.
Discount codes
Codes sent by text are personal and single-use, and they expire. Unless the message says otherwise, they can’t be combined with other offers, and they are subject to Acme’s usual terms of sale.
Reviews
After your order arrives, we may ask how it went. If you’re happy, we may send you a link to leave a review. Leaving one is entirely up to you, and you’ll never be paid or rewarded for it. If something went wrong, we’ll connect you with the Acme team to sort it out.
Your privacy
See the Acme privacy policy for how your information is used. We never sell, rent or share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. We share them only with the service providers that help run this program, such as messaging and AI providers, under contracts that limit how they may use them.
Carriers
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your device, your carrier and network coverage, and isn’t guaranteed.
Changes
Acme may change these terms or end the program at any time. The current version is always on this page.

Part B: SMS program policy (for US carrier registration)
Program
Program name: Acme Text Messages.
Business: Acme Goods LLC. Messages are sent on its behalf by its messaging service provider.
Description: recurring automated marketing and customer care messages to customers who opted in, including cart reminders, order follow-ups and delivery checks, product recommendations, personal single-use discount codes, review requests, and subscription and payment updates. Customers can reply, and the conversation continues with Acme’s AI assistant or a member of its team.
How customers opt in
Customers opt in by ticking an unchecked SMS marketing box at Acme’s online checkout, or on a Acme sign-up form, after entering their mobile number. Next to the box, the customer sees a disclosure that names Acme, says the messages are recurring automated marketing texts, says that consent is not a condition of purchase, states that message frequency varies and that message and data rates may apply, explains HELP and STOP, and links to the text messaging terms and the privacy policy. Customers who have previously stopped messages can rejoin by replying START. Phone numbers are never bought, rented or collected from third parties.
Message frequency and costs
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Opting out and help
Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE or OPTOUT) to stop at any time. One confirmation message is sent, and then no further messages except a help reply if the customer texts HELP. Reply HELP for help, or email support@example.com.
Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Eligibility
Customers must be at least 18 years old and the account holder of the mobile number, or have the account holder’s permission.
Privacy
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party, except the service providers that operate this program for Acme, under contract. Full privacy policy: https://example.com/privacy.

Part C: Opt-in wording for the brand’s checkout and forms
The brand collects consent. BubbleSMS doesn’t, and relies on it (see section 6 of the Terms of Service). For each place where customers can opt in to texts:
- Use a separate, unchecked checkbox for texts. Don’t bundle it with email sign-up or the terms of sale.
- Put the disclosure right next to the box, in readable type, before the customer submits:
Text me offers and updates from Acme. By ticking this box, I agree to receive recurring automated marketing texts from Acme at the number provided, including cart reminders, order follow-ups and offers. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. See our Messaging Terms and Privacy Policy.
- On Shopify, turn on the SMS marketing option at checkout and set its consent text to match the above. Make sure customer SMS consent is saved to the customer record; BubbleSMS reads it from there.
- Add one sentence to the brand’s own privacy policy saying that it uses service providers, including messaging and AI providers, to send and answer text messages, and include the privacy statement from Part B.
- Don’t import phone numbers or mark customers as subscribed by hand unless you hold proof of their consent.
Part D: Keyword replies and required messages
| Trigger | Message |
|---|---|
| STOP and its variants, or a clear request in the customer’s own words | “You’re unsubscribed from Acme texts and won’t get more messages. Reply START to resubscribe.” Sent once, then nothing more until the customer opts in again. |
| HELP or INFO | “Acme: help at support@example.com. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.” Sent even to someone who has opted out (carrier rules), at most once in 24 hours per customer. Never answered by the AI. |
| START or UNSTOP (from someone who opted in through the brand’s checkout or forms, then opted out) | “Acme: You’re signed up for texts again. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.” Anyone else’s START is reviewed by a person. |
| First message to a customer in a state that requires up-front disclosure (currently California, by address or area code) | The assistant introduces itself as “Mia, Acme’s AI assistant” in that first message. |
| Customer sincerely asks if they’re talking to a person or a bot | The assistant says plainly that it is Acme’s AI assistant and that a teammate can step in. |
